We all have a story. A story that tells the tale of where we have been, where we are now, and it sets the tone for our future ambitions. Our story creates our life experience and our life experience, as they accumulate, give us the opportunity to design our future. Chhary’s story is filled with hardship, hard work, perseverance, relentlessness, and ultimately living each day with gratitude.
Born in Cambodia the oldest of five siblings, her beginnings were not easy. Chhary was born to an amazing family, both loving and ambitious. But everything changed when war broke out in 1975 as the Khmer Rouge seized control of the country. A horrific war followed riddled with unimaginable atrocities. Known as one of the worst mass killings of the 20th century the genocide that followed eliminated as much as 30% of the of the Cambodian population. As the oldest of five children, she experienced extreme hardship which required responsibility beyond her years.
All of this hardship was coupled with incredibly good fortune. Miraculously, all five children and Chhary’s parents survived the war. They would not be here today if not for their cunning, tenacity, and sheer will. They found a way to flee the country as refugees and all miraculously all survived. Chhary is lucky to be alive and because of this lives each day with gratitude few can comprehend. As they fled atrocities, they had one goal in mind, to start a new life with unlimited opportunity in the United State of America. Not knowing the language, not having any money, but being full of optimism and gratitude for their lives, they set out to begin their journey.
Chhary has always been an entrepreneur. New to the country she began her career in the Donut business at the age of 19. Working seven days a week she and her husband raised two wonderful children and paid for their education at esteemed colleges. The donut shop created a foundation to support a family, start an additional business, and establish a growing real estate portfolio all while pursuing her own higher education. She is determined and relentless in her pursuits. Incredibly driven and focused on her goals. Never wasting a day or even a moment of her precious life. The phrase “Hard Work” does not begin to describe Chhary’s work ethic.

After decades of running her business Chhary was ready for a change. She sold her donut shop to another ambitious couple and was left with a decision. Retire or keep pursuing excellence. The process to make that decision took only a few moments. As she reflected on the deep relationships that were built over the years through her donut shop she realized a few things.
1. People appreciate and deserve honesty and integrity in business, and Chhary holds this as a core value.
2. She is energized by people and serving others. She treasures her now lifelong relationships with her customers.
3. She cannot sit still and watch life go by. She is a woman of action.
As Chhary evaluated how she wanted to design the next chapter of her life she began by taking inventory of her strengths and passions. She is passionate about giving back to her community taking time to feed the hungry and host events supporting local law enforcement. She has exceptional style, a passion for design, years of business and negotiation experience, and an unrivaled work ethic.
It became obvious. Chhary is dedicating the next chapter of her life to helping other people buy and sell real estate while continuing her community involvement. She is a Realtor.
